Casas del Bosque 2024 Gran Reserva Pinot Noir, Casablanca Valley, Chile ($20)

Sweet soil and milk chocolate are expressive and offer a savory tone to this superb Pinot Noir. Toasty notes are well integrated with black cherry and soy sauce. Juicy and delicious.

Casas del Bosque 2025 Collection Sauvignon Blanc, Casablanca Valley, Chile ($16)

This single vineyard Sauvignon Blanc shows excellent complexity and overall quality. A combination of cooling marine influence and intensity of sunlight results in a spectrum of flavors ranging from citrus to white melon to a juicy tropical fruit note. A pleasantly grassy aroma and fresh acidity keep this interesting and balanced.

Casas del Bosque 2025 Las Dichas Rosé, Casablanca Valley, Chile ($17)

Las Dichas is located in the coldest, westernmost side of Casablanca Valley. This mouth-filling rosé of Pinot Noir smacks of ripe cherries, cranberries, and rose petals. Fermented in concrete eggs, it has a full body and offers a luscious mouthfeel.

Casas del Bosque Collection 2024 Las Dichas Pinot Noir, Casablanca Valley, Chile ($15)

Bright and zippy, with white-peppered cherries, cinnamon hots, and rose petals. Racy acidity sets a fresh tone while the juicy liquid exhibits length and varietal purity.

Casas del Bosque Collection 2025 Sauvignon Blanc, Casablanca Valley, Chile ($15)

If pineapples could be grown accompanying an herb garden, then this single vineyard white would have the unique flavor profile of tropical fruit infused with thyme, rosemary, and sweet basil. It’s a refreshing and pure character, cleansing the palate with stark acidity and a seashell minerality.

Chappellet 2023 Signature Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley ($95)

This vintage marks the first official release for winemaker Ry Richards, who joined Chappellet in 2006, and has been working under the guidance of VP of Winemaking Phillip Corallo-Titus along with Director of Vineyard Operations Andrew Opatz. Taking the reins to craft wines from the famous Pritchard Hill Vineyard comes with much responsibility, and this wine shows its reputable style. Violets are submerged in dark chocolate cake, with plum and boysenberry rising to the top. Beaming with a royal presence, its silky tannins are polished with sunshine and sweet earth.

Château de Barbe 2023, Côtes de Bourg, France ($35)

Comprised of 80% Merlot, 15% Malbec and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, this is impressively dark and deeply flavored. Thankfully, those attributes don’t come at the cost of closed flavors or astringency in the finish, and the dark plum and blackberry flavors easily over-ride the wine’s tannin and wood. Remarkably delicious already.

Château Victoria 2022 Haut-Medoc, Cru Bourgeois, France ($50)

A very sleek and refined Bordeaux, this offers excellent aromatic complexity and expressiveness. The flavors follow suit, with medium body but well-defined flavors recalling dark berries and black currants accented with spice notes and savory accents. Terrific young Bordeaux.
