Black Pharo VS Cognac, Cognac DOC, France ($36)

Aromas of just-peeled oranges and orange blossom, with hints of vanilla. Sleek and sensuous, with flavors of pecan, milk chocolate, tangerine, peach, and jasmine. Its approachability factor is off the charts and may inspire a healthy comeback for the category. Well-defined, with a hint of spearmint on the long finish. 84 proof.

Bomberger’s Declaration Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, USA ($120)

Orange peel milled oats, and cream soda gentle the waft of alcohol on the nose of thus Legacy Series bottling. Once the overproof heat dissipates, black walnut and Pekoe tea is revealed, with maple nougat dotted with black pepper. Cigar leaf Proclaims a robust middle, with cedar revealing a lengthy, complex, citrus-lined finish. 108 Proof.

High West Bottled in Bond Bourbon ($80)

Bottled at 100 proof, aged four years and filled with vim and vigor, this Bourbon raises the stakes. Peach, vanilla, maple and smoke swirl delightfully at the edge of aromatic indulgence. The flavors are unbridled yet concentrated, with cinnamon and nutmeg and chocolate cascading seamlessly from start to finish. Pantera d Oro Extra Anejo Tequila ($150)

From the man who helped launch Tequila Ocho and Ancho Reyes in the U.S. Market, Scott Baird’s new spirit is aged in half French and half American oak barrels. It exhibits a stunning bronze hue with a gold rim. Aromas of orange peel, almond brittle, and apricot are reminiscent of a fine bourbon. The palate is sensational, with notes of black cherry, cocoa-covered walnut and banana surrounding fresh agave. Balanced and seductive with a cinnamon-cedar finish.
