Fog & Light 2024 Sauvignon Blanc Central Coast ($25)

Rather restrained for a Sauvignon Blanc based on the first impression it leaves, this reserved character becomes ever more appealing with multiple sips over time. The bouquet is virtually free of any herbal or “grassy” notes, with white melon and subtle tropical fruit aromas that predominate in the flavors as well.

Folie à Deux 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon, Alexander Valley, Sonoma County ($18)

Satin-lined tannins are what we love about many Alexander Valley Cabs triumph of texture. Graphite, cigar leaf, and black currant stream across the palate with approachable charm.

Folie à Deux 2023 Chardonnay, Russian River Valley, Sonoma County ($16)

The wine’s intense persona encourages notes of vanilla marshmallow, lemon cookies, and banana nut bread. A churn of buttery oak is managed by a bright acid structure, finishing clean and crisp.

92

Four Star 2023 Chardonnay, California ($16)

Notes of mandarin, butter cream and even a touch of Greek yogurt collide generously. There is a flourish of jasmine and honeysuckle alongside supple rich citrus. A backbone of steadfast acidic lift ties the loose ends together admirably.

G3 by Goose Ridge Vineyard 2022 Chardonnay, Columbia Valley, WA ($16)

A Chardonnay that’s fully mature three years after the 2022 harvest, this is notably more complex than most current releases thanks to additional time for integration and development. Wisps of baking spices get this going aromatically, followed by flavors akin to baked apples and mandarin oranges.

G3 by Goose Ridge Vineyard 2023 Pinot Gris, Columbia Valley, WA ($16)

There’s strong value in this nicely balanced, highly versatile, medium-bodied white. Softly textured but not lacking structural definition, it features flavors recalling ripe pears and orchard fruits, with just enough acidity to freshen the finish and make this as promising for the table as for stand-alone sipping.

G3 by Goose Ridge Vineyard 2023 Riesling, Columbia Valley, WA ($16)

Dry in style but still not short on flavor or satisfaction delivery, this is a stylish and versatile Riesling that will prove very enjoyable on its own or as a table companion to a wide range of dishes—not just the spicy ones often recommended for Riesling. Its aromas and flavors recalling nectarines and mandarin oranges tail off slowly in a clean finish.

Geyser Peak 2023 Red Wine Blend, CA ($14)

Sleek, with soft tannins, this energetic red delivers cherry, plum, and hibiscus tea, with a cleansing acidity.
