From the coolest site in the Anderson Valley, 20 miles from the Pacific, this vineyard rests on a slope at 325 feet in elevation. Aged 15 months in 60-gallon barriques (16% new French oak), it’s 14.9 percent abv comes in as balanced and elegant. Arousing notes of black cherry and vanilla bathe the palate, with headier notes of leather and fig, dense and attention-grabbing. Lavender blooms from start to finish, with a touch of green tea.
