Casa Relvas 2020 Art Terra Amphora Tinto Red, Alentejano, Portugal ($24)

This wine is made from a blend of Aragonez, Moreto, and Trincadeira grapes. It has a bright ruby hue. Black fruits such as blackberries and plums, as well as eucalyptus are aromas that jump out of the glass. On the palate are flavors of prune, blueberry jam, white pepper, licorice, flint, and lavender. The tannins and acidity nicely balance out the fruit.

Castoro Cellars 2023 Estate Sauvignon Blanc, Paso Robles ($17)

Chandon NV Brut, California ($23)

Appealingly reliable, reliably appealing: That could be Chandon Brut’s tagline. The nose on this traditional-method blend of 73% Chardonnay, 26% Pinot Noir, and 1% Meunier is a ray of sunshine, combining ripe pear and citrus (pomelo, lemon curd) with white peach and the slightest hint of tarragon. The curvaceous palate is likewise almost playful in its vibrancy, acidity dancing with similar flavors joined by some apple and yeasty notes. It’s almost too easy to drink.

Chandon, Brut Rose, California ($23)

Golden State sunshine in a glass, this highly approachable traditional-method blend of 57% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir, and 3% Meunier fills the nose and mouth with strawberry and cranberry amid tinges of red rose, lime leaf, and vanilla brioche. Pomegranate makes its way into the mix on the midpalate, met by lilting acidity.

Chappellet 2021 Hideaway Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley ($175)

Grown on rocky slopes of Pritchard Hill, where Chappellet’s Mountain Estates vineyards climb over 1400 feet in elevation. The assets of this bold, elegant red open up and fan out with abandon across the palate. Notes of juicy blackberry intermingle with clove and dusty graphite. The level of concentration is majestic and imposing, and along with grace and poise, charms with demonstrative flavors of sage, black tea, and black raspberry.

Chard Farm 2023 Rabbit Ranch Sauvignon Blanc, New Zealand ($20)

From the South Island, a stand-up white with freshly cut grass, white grapefruit, and honeyed pears. Notes of white jasmine rise up on mid-palate reflects a silky style. Turmeric, sweet basil and tropical fruit add layers on the finish.

Chateau de Berne 2023 Inspiration Rose, AOP Cotes de Provence, France ($22)
