High West Campfire Whiskey ($80)

Exuberant aromas of butterscotch, almond, and peach pie start the sequence of nuances for this blend of straight rye, straight bourbon, and blended malt Scotch whisky. Peaty notes greet the senses first, warm and inviting. Marzipan, oatmeal, apricot cobbler, and mango are wrapped in cigar leaf. The finish of toasted graham cracker and dark chocolate are heady and sensuous.

98

Lazy K Bar Bourbon, 92 proof ($100)

Crafted in Montana, this 8-year-old bourbon mixes in some nine and 10-year-old stock. The peach nectar on the nose is a siren luring you in for its captivating flavors of sweet oak, honey, and a lather of new leather and pecan nougat. It possesses a succulent aftertaste of strength and luxury.

96

Michter’s US*1 Toasted Barrel Finish Rye, USA, 109.4 proof ($120)

First selecting fully matured barrels of their US*1 Rye, the spirit is finished in second barrels, made of naturally air-dried white oak barrels that are seasoned outdoors for 24 months. Michter’s Master of Maturation, Andrea Wilson says, “these barrels are toasted to our specifications, but not charred.” Aromas of pecan pie, dried raisins, and chai are stunning. Resiny notes dry the palate with caraway, dusty peach skin, walnut, charred cedar, and Pekoe tea.

OVO Vodka ($30)

Short for Our Five (V) Oceans, OVO Vodka partners with the Bye Bye Plastic Foundation to help cut the use of single-use plastics at music festivals and other events, donating $2 from every bottle purchased. Made from American corn that is distilled six times with activated charcoal, it tastes crisp, fresh, and deliciously of citrus, with a clean, lengthy aftertaste, making it ideal for sipping or use in cocktails. Gluten-free.

Pasote Tequila Blanco Still Strength, Mexico 110 proof ($70)

Revel in the aromas of mint chocolate, Bing cherries, and sweet agave. An unraveling of flavors begins with chocolate mint, earth and stone, green pepper, and mango. This higher proof tequila offers the heat, but as it dissipates, it releases notes of hibiscus, prickly pear, and pineapple.

Remus Gatsby Reserve 2023 Edition ($200)

Made from 15-year-old reserves, this is the 2023 edition of a cask-strength straight bourbon inspired by the Great Gatsby novel, which was published nearly a century ago. A highly-limited release, the reserves include two bourbon mash bills, one a majority of corn with rye and barley malt, and the other a corn-rye-barley malt with slightly higher rye content. The end result is a sublime combination of caramel, cinnamon stick, brown sugar, and maple syrup that opens in sweet vanilla with a smooth finish.

Alma del Jaguar Tequila Blanco ($50)

Champions of conservation organizations that protect wild jaguars in North America, this sustainably produced spirit uses agave fiber labels, repurposed cork, and recycled bottles and cardboard boxes. The Blanco’s aromas capture salted lime and fresh agave with a whisper of ginger. Melted butter and brown sugar team up with baked apple and cinnamon. Highly unique and luscious with a finish of crushed stone and licorice.

Alma del Jaguar Tequila Reposado ($60)

Warm, penetrating notes of spiced cedar, black peppercorns, and jasmine. Floral notes persist, followed by an apricot nectar.
