Aged 18 months in (50% new) French oak, and with 14% Merlot, Winemaker Steven Urberg’s newly released 2021 vintage is a teeth-grabber. Dusty coca tannins displays an affinity with cedar, wet stone, blackberry, dried violets, and beet root. Still in its youth, it shows much promise.
Very Dark Red indeed! This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Petite Sirah is opaque in hue, but its shadowed persona unmasks notes of bittersweet dark chocolate, sage, and blackberry licorice. Juicy and glossy; lusciously crafted.
With an unctuous mouthfeel, and flavors of apricot nectar, this is world class caliber Chardonnay. Rich with lemon oil, white pepper, and toasted coconut, it displays impeccable balance.
