Sculpterra 2015 Mourvèdre, Paso Robles, USA
This wine is made entirely from estate-grown vines on rocky limestone and clay soils; the grapes are crushed and fermented on site. The blending in of Petite Sirah (15%) serves to add structure and dry, dusty tannins while deepening color and intensifying the flavors of dark fruit. Ripe with notes of bittersweet dark chocolate and black cherry, this chewy expression is quite food-friendly even at 15.5% ABV. 91
