It’s a HeadSnapper 2023 Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand ($10)

An herb garden of dill, thyme, and basil lights up notes of kiwi and lime. Aromatically bright and expressive. Salty lime stimulates the palate, for a refreshing, tart finish.

It’s a HeadSnapper Extra Dry Prosecco D.O.C., Italy ($10)

Bubbles are dainty and release notes of Baby’s Breath, melon, and papaya. Light and clean, with mineral tones amped by lemon drops and fresh linen.

92

J. Lohr 2023 Arroyo Vista Chardonnay, Arroyo Seco, Monterey County ($25)

Buttered croissant, Meyer lemon, and a spiced, ripe pear tart engage for a dramatic, stunning Dijon clone Chardonnay. The wine exhibits notes of just-bitten apple and a leesy mouthfeel. Outstanding.

92

J. Lohr 2023 Fog’s Reach Pinot Noir, Arroyo Seco, Monterey Co ($35)

Delicate and linear, with wild strawberries, stony minerality, clove, and rose petals. Aromas of exotically spiced cedar are persistent on nose and palate.

91

J. Lohr 2023 Wildflower Valdiguié, Arroyo Seco, Monterey County ($13)

A bright carmine hue is eye-opening. Prickly pear, hibiscus, pomegranate, and red tea line the palate with accentuated flavor. A fine vintage to show off this variety’s best attributes. It finishes with cinnamon-kissed raspberries.

89

J. M. Fonseca 2023 Twin Vines Vinho Verde, Portugal ($9)

Like many wines from Portugal, renditions of Vinho Verde are finally gaining traction in the American market. Subtly sweet rather than sharply acidic. A highly viable product from a long-respected producer.

92

Joel Gott 2021 Chardonnay, California ($18)

Battered dough, lemon curd, and a wisp of Baby’s Breath are flavors that gracefully land on the palate. Silky and serene, without any edge – just curves that enable a lengthy, plush mouthfeel.

90

Just Enough Wines 2023 Chardonnay, Central Coast, CA ($7)

In 250 ml cans, a well-crafted white wine. White flowers bloom, with toasty pear and red apple aligning with a fine acidity.
