Spec’s Family Corp., the parent company of Spec’s Wines, Spirits & Finer Foods, has announced the acquisition of Lee’s Discount Liquor, Nevada’s largest independent liquor chain. This transaction marks Spec’s first expansion outside of Texas.
Lee’s Discount Liquor was founded in 1981 by Hae Un Lee in Las Vegas. Over the past four decades, the company has grown from a single store into one of Nevada’s most recognized liquor retailers under the leadership of the Lee family, particularly his son, Kenny Lee, and daughter-in-law, Nami Lee.
Lee’s Discount Liquor will retain its name and continue operating independently in Nevada, preserving the local brand and customer experience that have made it a fixture in the Las Vegas community. “Our families have shared a commitment to great customer service and community values for generations,” says John Rydman, President of Spec’s. “We are excited to bring Lee’s Discount Liquor into the Spec’s family, and to continue with the legacy started by Mr. Lee.
