Austria’s OVAL Vodka Debuts in the U.S.

With a successful start in Germany, the U.K. and its homeland, Austria, OVAL Vodka launched in the U.S. this past summer. “In a culmination of 30 years of research, we own a patent on an 11-day process that structures the vodka,” says OVAL International Sales Manager Eugen Schwarz.

According to Schwarz, the structuring process combines water and alcohol in a way that arranges the vodka so that the water surrounds the spirit.

“The result: Water prepares the palate for a uniquely smooth taste experience with every sip,” adds Schwarz. “This can only be accomplished at 48, 84 and 112 proof. At 84 proof, OVAL is a vodka that tastes great straight and makes even better cocktails, or as we like to say, ‘vodka that is evolved.’”

OVAL will initially be available in a 750 ml. size with a suggested retail price of $36.99, launching in the New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Boston, Atlanta and Dallas metropolitan areas, with national expansion to follow. Go to www.OvalVodka.com

The Perrin’s New Gigondas Estate

The Perrin family, proprietors of Château de Beaucastel and Perrin & Fils, has acquired the Domaine des Tourelles in Gigondas, a former monastery dating from the 17th century. Located in the Southern Rhône, the Domaine, according to the Perrins, offers “exceptional terroir, very sandy and ideal to produce great Grenache wines.”

Amstel Light’s Thanksgiving Program

Drinks Inspired by Disney

Wall•E Ice Bop juice slushies and High School Musical fruit drinks from American Beverage Corporation are all-naturally flavored, use no preservatives, contain fewer than 110 calories and are rich in antioxidants.

New Look for Russell’s Reserve

Russell’s Reserve’s new packaging will debut next month. A visible wood cork and parchment label is part of the new design, and a neck hanger that tells their story and offers tasting notes.
