Blue Reviews EXTRA! September 2012

German Riesling Still Rules

I recently tasted a spate of 2011 Rieslings from Germany. Wines made from this noble grape variety may have taken a back seat to trendier varietals in recent years, but as this group of tasting notes makes clear, Riesling from Germany is still one of the world's best white wines.

Retailers, don't neglect these labels on your retail shelves. With modest prices and high quality, they make exceptional by-the-glass offerings on restaurant wine lists as well. Once your customers develop a taste for quality Riesling, they will be fans for life.

Look for my featurette on Schloss Vollrads in the October print edition of THE TASTING PANEL.
