Cupcake Vineyards Earns Spot as America’s Number-One Premium Wine

Cupcake Vineyards has announced that it has become America's number one premium wine for the first time, according to data from Nielsen. Based on the sales volume of nine liter equivalent cases of wine for the 52 weeks ending 6/22/13, Cupcake saw a 16.9 percent growth in year over year sales, which increased sales volume to 1,789,187 cases.

Cupcake Vineyards significantly outsold other popular wine brands in terms of volume to earn the number one position on the survey. The runner-up only had a six percent increase in sales volume of nine liter equivalent cases of wine or a volume nearly 100,000 cases less than Cupcake, at 1,692,575. Comparatively, the brand in third place on the list, saw an increase in sales volume of 8.8 percent to 1,291,669 cases, nearly 500,000 less than Cupcake.
