Aveníu Brands Announces Mermelada

Aveníu Brands has announced the debut of Mermelada, a "sassy" sweet, red blend from Spain with targeted appeal to younger, primarily female wine lovers, scheduled to release nationally this summer.

The blend of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot is grown and estate-bottled in the D.O. Costers del Segre region of northeastern Spain. The grapes are harvested at the peak of their sweetness to create a well structured, fruity wine with a balanced finish.
Mermelada (SRP $11.99) offers approachability in style and price while retaining the structure and character of the Costers del Segre region. The new release offers a distinct Spanish selection within the growing sweet red wine category.
Costers del Segre is one of the youngest and most progressive wine regions in Spain, with a continental climate, noted for very low annual rainfall and maximum sunshine. The significant contrast between day and night temperatures creates full ripening, concentrated flavors and fine aromatics in the wines.
