Lancaster Estate Winery and Roth Winery have established new partnerships with distributors in several Western states, bringing renewed focus to the Sonoma County-based winery located in the southern hillsides of the Alexander Valley, known for exceptional Bordeaux varieties, outstanding Sauvignon Blanc and distinctive Bordeaux-styled red table wines.
Lancaster Estate focuses on estate-bottled Bordeaux varietals from its 53-acre hillside property. The Lancaster portfolio includes Estate Cabernet Sauvignon ($65) and a pair of proprietary Cabernet-based red table wine blends known as Sophia’s Hillside Cuvée ($48) and Nicole’s Red, in limited release at $100. A new vintage of Samantha’s Sauvignon Blanc ($24) has just been released.
Roth Winery, a sister brand for Lancaster Estate, is focused on producing Bordeaux inspired varieties from the greater expanses of the Alexander Valley AVA, features current releases such as the 2007 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon ($29.99) and the newly released 2009 Alexander Valley Sauvignon Blanc ($14.99). Later this summer, the winery will expand its offerings with the addition of an Alexander Valley Roth Merlot priced at retail $19.99.
