Bacardi Infuses Spirits Market with New Flavor Innovation: Bacardi Rock Coconut Flavored Rum

Bacardi has announced its latest flavor innovation, Bacardi Rock Coconut. Bacardi is proud to introduce the first coconut rum infused with rock melon and coconut water. The distinct combination of sweet and highly refreshing coconut water paired with the crisp and exotic taste of rock melon create a dynamic spirit, with a rich aroma, and authentic taste. Bacardi Rock Coconut follows the successful launches of Bacardi Dragon Berry and Bacardi Torched Cherry.

Bacardi is the first brand to introduce the unique ingredients rock melon and coconut water to the clear flavored spirits market. Rock melon is a member of the melon family that originates from India and Africa. Rock melon's sweet and crisp taste profile enhance the coconut rum flavor. The rum flavor is intensified with coconut water, the naturally fat-free, clear and refreshing liquid found inside young coconuts. The infusions of rock melon and coconut water give Bacardi Rock Coconut flavored rum a smoother, creamier, coconut taste.

"Bacardi Flavored Rums is committed to providing consumers with new and exciting flavor combinations that consist of unique ingredients with dynamic tastes," says Gordon Chisholm, Brand Director, Bacardi Flavored Rums. "We continue to lead the flavored spirits market by infusing popular flavors with those more exotic. We are the first flavored spirits brand to capitalize on the extreme popularity of coconut water and offer our consumers this exclusive flavor experience."
Bacardi Rock Coconut flavored rum can be enjoyed in a wide variety of cocktails including: the Bacardi Rock Coconut, made with pineapple juice, and the Bacardi Rocket, made with cola. For additional recipes explore the free Bacardi Flavors Cocktail Application for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch available at Apple iTunes. Users (21+) can tap and explore popular cocktails, local listings for bars, liquor stores and taxis—all on their mobile device.

The premium and distinctive package of Bacardi Rock Coconut communicates the look and taste of these unique tropical ingredients. With a suggested retail price of $13.99 for a 750 ml. bottle, the 35% alcohol-by-volume rum also comes in 50 ml., 200 ml., 275 ml., 1 liter and 1.75 liter sizes. Bacardi Rock Coconut joins other celebrated flavored rums such as Bacardi Limon, the best-selling citrus flavored rum in the world, Bacardi Torched Cherry, Bacardi O, Bacardi Coconut; Bacardi Razz; Bacardi Big Apple, Bacardi Grand Melon, Bacardi Peach Red and Bacardi Dragon Berry.

Bacardi Rock Coconut will be available beginning in November 2010. The launch will be supported nationally with print advertising, trade advertising, digital, out-of-home, on and off-premise POS and public relations. For more information or additional recipes and images, please visit
