Stella Artois Cidre Is Brought to the States
by Negeen Amirieh

Stella Artois Cidre is a new complex European-style cider made of 70% hand picked apples. With hints of red apples, peaches, apricot and a subtle flavor of orange, the cidre finishes with a wood taste. Consisting of a dry, but slightly sugary flavor, which creates a perfect balance of bitter and sweet. It almost has a beery taste, which has helped expand this European spirit into the United States of America.

Excitingly, Stella Artois Cidre is ready for a U.S. launch after its introduction in 26 states in 2013. Cidre has been around in England for two years now, but the verdict to bring this fruity refreshment to the States acts as a validation for the future of cider drinking. Because of the cidre's crisp taste, Stella Artois's U.S. director, Rick Oleshak believes that the European brewing style will appeal to white wine drinkers all across the country. Stella Artois Cider hopes to bring a much needed boom cider markets and to make bars across the country more diverse.

Stella Artois Cidre is best served over plenty of ice, making the cidre cool and refreshing. A glass of this cidre is beautifully paired with cheese like manchego, a salad topped with fruit or garden fresh Belgian endives.
