It’s Pimm’s O’Clock: Special Edition Flavor – Blackberry & Elderflower
by Negeen Amirieh
Pimm's was produced in England by James Pimm in 1823 and has been owned by Diago since 1997. It is a special brand of fruit cups and is considered a liqueur. Pimm's is the perfect spicy- sweet liqueur and tastes like a breeze on a hot day.
Pimm's is most popular in southern England. It is a staple cocktail at British and American polo matches and very popular at summer garden parties at British universities. Besides Champagne, Primm's is also one of the standard drinks at the Wimbledon tennis tournament, the Chelsea Flower Show, the Henley Royal Regatta and the Glyndebourne Festival Opera. This fruity spirit is also very popular with drinkers and bartenders today and is almost as common as tea all over the United States, but is mainly associated with New Orleans.
Pimm's has come out with a new special edition flavor called Pimm's Blackberry & Elderflower. This new flavor is based on Pimm's N0:6 Vodka Cup with superfluous flavors of blackberry and elderflower. Although, this pink-purple drink is usually served with lemonade and a garnish of blackberries, it is quite delicious by itself. It has a bittersweet taste with a touch of citrus and spices. The elderflower provides the drinker with a spring or early summer feel, while the blackberry adds a late- summer and autumn feel in the cold winters. Therefore, making this drink a drink for all seasons and occasions.
